Carpet floor transition profile by IQUBX CP32, is a sturdy aluminium based extrusion trim or profile, designed to take care of transition of materials and even small height differences in floor finishes in an interior project. It comes in multiple finishes like anodized and powder coating (including wooden finishes) as per client requirement. CP32 is also available in raw mill finish, which can be finished at client end.

What is Carpet floor transition profile?

Often in interiors, whether it is a residence, an office, an institution, hospital or a hotel, there are different floor finishes like a carpet or a wooden flooring may be laid adjacent and sometimes over a floor with tile or stone finish. Besides the joint, sometimes there may be a slight level difference between different materials.

Be it sloped transition or a same height transition, and whichever the two adjacent material finishes of the floor may be, a Floor transition strip or a floor transition profile would be an ideal solution.

Where do we use Carpet floor transition profile?

Whenever there is use of two different flooring material in interiors, a floor transition profile is recommended. Even if the two materials are at the same level, the joint protection will be required for longevity. In case there is a level difference in the two finishes, there would be required a sloped transition profile.

Especially, if the floor areas are big enough, a significant contraction and expansion of floor materials may also happen, resulting in cracks in floor. A floor transition profile is an ideal solution to mitigate this problem as well.

Material and designs of Carpet floor transition profile

IQUBX floor transition profile CP32 is a 32 mm wide aluminium alloy 6063 T6 extrusion trim carefully designed to provide optimum solution in most of the situations, be it same height or where the floor finishes have a level difference upto 10 mm. The design provides optimum section thickness above screw heads for maximum strength and sturdiness. The edges are tapered to provide minimum obstacle to tripping. The entire profile has a slight curve to adapt to the height difference. The fixing detail allows the screw head to rotate to adapt to the different heights. The slot for the screw head accommodates various sizes of screws to allow the use of maximum length for best anchoring to the floor substrate.

Installation of Carpet floor transition profile IQUBX CP32

Though different designs may use different fixing methods like plastic dowels, adhesive strips or screws, IQUBX CP32 floor transition profile uses the most optimal and flexible fixing method.

In this floor profile edge trim, screw heads are inserted in a groove on bottom side of the trim and the profile is hammered in softly with a mallet from top side. The protruding screws at bottom get securely anchored in the flooring base material. The flexibility of the screw head in the groove provides an optimal leeway to adjust a height level upto 10 to 12 mm easily.
